Heidi Overton

Heidi Nycole Overton is an American medical doctor who has served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy since January 2025. Prior to joining the second Trump administration, Overton was the chief policy officer and the vice chair for the Center for a Healthy America at the America First Policy Institute. She was a White House Fellow from 2019 to 2021. Overton helped lead the Trump administration's response to the 2026 Central Africa Ebola epidemic. In June 2026, Overton was reported by Bloomberg News to be among the final candidates being considered by the Trump administration to lead the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
